As we leave for mid-winter break, it is important that we all continue to do our part to keep our schools safely open.  Dr. Matt Willis recently shared good news regarding Marin's progress and our success in keeping schools open for in-person instruction.  Covering our faces, social distancing, and avoiding mixed gatherings are working to reduce Marin's cases and help us move down towards the Red Tier.  While enjoying the week off, please refer to the Marin County COVID-19 Safety Decision Tree for Schools when making decisions about non-essential travel and recommended quarantine practices.  Please call the front office if you have any questions and we are happy to help.

Happy Chinese New Year

Millions of people all over the world are celebrating Chinese New Year! While the pandemic has certainly played its part in disrupting gatherings and traditions, it is typically marked by lots of delicious food, fireworks, and the hanging red lanterns to ward off bad luck!

This year Chinese New Year begins today, on the 12th of February.

The reason the new year falls at this time is because it marks the start of the lunar new year, which is when there is the start of a new moon.

Because it depends on the Moon, the date of Chinese New Year actually changes each year, but it will always fall sometime between January 21st and February 20th.

The festival begins on February 12th and lasts for up to 16 days. This year marks the change from the year of the Rat to the year of the Ox.
