The plan to return to full classes, five days a week on April 12th remains and we plan to implement the schedule below:

When will you provide an overview of the extended school day plans and answer questions? 

Join the K-5 Parent Webinar on March 31st to learn about the new schedule, procedures for recess and lunch, and address questions. The meeting recording and slide deck will be available by 5:00.

Is my student in the first stagger or the second? 

In order to reduce the number of people on campus and manage our safety protocols, we will continue with a staggered arrival and dismissal.  The stagger is reduced to 10 minutes so it is very important that the First Arrival families leave promptly after drop off (to make room in the parking lot) and the Second Arrival families do not come early. 

 

AM Students will Arrive/ Dismiss at the First Stagger Time (8:05-8:15 and 2:00)

PM Students will Arrive/ Dismiss at the Second Stagger Time (8:15-8:25 and 2:10)

 

What is next week's schedule like? 

 

March 29-30:In-Person Hybrid Schedule/ Rock-a-Thon

 

March 31: Regular Remote Schedule

 

April 1-2: Remote Learning days so that teachers and staff can prepare our schools for the full classroom return on April 12. Your child will have a total of 60 minutes each day on Zoom and 180 minutes (120 for Kindergarten) of assignments to work on independently. Thank you in advance for your support.

 

Do I still complete the Crisis Go Health screening every morning?

Yes.  Families will receive the email at 6:00 am every morning and must certify that their child is healthy and symptom-free.  Uncertified students will not be allowed in class. 

 

Will students eat lunch on campus?

Yes. Students will be eating lunch outside (weather permitting) at six feet of social distance.  As masks will not be worn at this time, we will follow all hand-washing protocols and be encouraging prompt eating before playing.

 

Will there be a lunch service?

The district is making arrangements to shift our Lunchmaster service from a weekly meal kit to daily delivery at each school site. It will come in a "grab and go" format. If you receive daily meals, you MUST log on and sign up to continue receiving meals.  

  • Families will receive a flyer announcing the lunch program at the site and instructions for how to sign up for an account.

  • Account must be created by March 31st. Parents who would like help should contact Roxana directly at rascencio@millercreeksd.org

  • All meals must be ordered by 10:00 Tuesday of the week before.  

Can parents volunteer again?

Yes. We are in need of regular parent volunteers to help with recess and lunch supervision.  If you are fully vaccinated and can commit to a regular schedule, please call the front office. 

 

Have your cleaning and sanitizing protocols changed?

No.  We will continue with our regular, robust cleaning and sanitizing protocols. Our school has demonstrated to be a safe and healthy place for students and staff.  We intend to keep it up!

 

 


Fall Return

In grades K-8, upon the recommendation from Marin Public Health Officers, the District is planning for a fall return to school with our typical 5 day a week, full-day schedule. 

 


Keeping Our Community Safe and Our School Open

With Spring Break coming up, please do not engage in high-risk behavior (including gatherings of more than three households and out-of-state travel). Public Health still strongly recommends quarantining after any out of state travel.

The Rock-A-Thon is Finally Here!

Instructional Assistant Positions

Parent Racial Equity Series with Dr. Lori Watson

The Miller Creek School District is committed to antiracist work with staff, students, and families. We have had the opportunity to work with both Dr. Lori Watson of Race-Work.com and with Brian Fong of Facing History and Ourselves to explore issues of race, identity and raising racial consciousness and equity. We invite our community to join Dr. Watson on Monday, March 29th at 6:00 for the third session in the Parent Racial Equity Seminar series (zoom link) or to become involved with the District’s Equity Working Group or the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee at each school site. As a community, we must have the courage to stand up to hate and intolerance and to dismantle the systemic structures that perpetuate inequities in order to create a more just world.

 

Register for our Parent Racial Equity Seminar Series: Session 3 - Whiteness, facilitated by Dr. Lori Watson, founder and CEO of Race-Work. This series is designed for people with a desire to engage and learn about race in order to elevate their own personal racial consciousness.
