I studied Business Management and Recreation and found my passion in the Recreation side. I have been fortunate to work in the education and aquatics fields for almost 24 years.  I have coached swimming for MSL teams, a year-round swim team and currently coach for San Marin High.  In PE, I will teach games that  reinforce sportsmanship, team building, hand/eye coordination and physical activity that helps the students bodies and minds  I am so fortunate to be a part of the Vallecito family.  I look forward to another year with all of your children.

Ms. Lynn Rosso, PE (TK and Kindergarten)

staff1My name is Lynn Rosso, I was born and raised in Salinas, California.  After high school I attended Hartnell Jr. College and graduated with an AA in Mechanical Drawing.  I then transferred to and graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a BA in Graphic Communications. After graduating, I worked as a Graphic Designer in Walnut Creek. I married and moved to Marin in 1990. My husband and I have two boys Nick, 23 and Adam, 20.  When my boys were old enough to be in school, I started work as an Instructional aide at Bacich Elementary School. I worked there for nine years.  In 2011, I started working at Vallecito as an instructional aide. In 2014 I added teaching kindergarten PE.

I enjoy the opportunity to work so closely with all of the kindergarten students.  The students and I spend recess, lunch and PE together allowing me time to get to know each student. During PE, the students build confidence, engage in various PE activities, learn how to work together and show care and respect to one another.

Mr. James Newman, Art Teacher

Meet our Art Specialist

staff 4James Newman is a Northern California-based artist who has exhibited his work in the Bay Area and the Southwest.  His collection incorporates color, texture and broad brushstrokes, using abstract oils on canvas. James' artwork is highly influenced by his family. James has three children, ages 16, 14, and 9. He has always participated in their art classes, this includes volunteering, providing workshops, seminars and group projects. When his oldest son was young, James used to draw simple pictures upside down to demonstrate objects and ideas for him as they sat across the table from each other. This use of uninhibited perspective and playful philosophy, combined with an unintentional focus on the process, rather than the finished product, enabled James to explore his own unique creativity. James is very excited to bring his energy and abilities to the Vallecito Elementary School community.

Ms. Brenna Foley, Transitional Kindergarten-2nd Grade Music and Movement

My name is Brenna Foley and I’m originally from Mstaff 3innesota. I graduated in 2016 from Chapman University in Southern California. After graduation I started teaching dance, art and health at an elementary school. I moved to Marin a year ago and have been teaching kids meditation classes. I strive to maintain a holistic approach to health and wellness, including exercise, mindfulness and artistic expression. I hope to inspire students on their own path to self-expression through music and movement, and I am thrilled to be teaching at Vallecito.
